    [UNIX] adj. CBREAK mode (character-by-character with interrupts enabled). Distinguished from raw mode and {cooked mode}; the phrase "a sort of half-cooked (rare?) mode" is used in the V7/BSD manuals to describe the mode. Usage rare.
